Too many applications, too little time
One of my colleagues returned from her first-period class this morning, Dec. 17, to find a very thick manila envelope on her desk. There was a note on top:
Dear Ms. Jones,Names have been changed to protect the innocent. But the tone, the dates, and the quantity of applications have unfortunately not been changed. I would like to think that this is some sort of record — in various ways — but it probably isn’t.
Here are my recommendation forms. I am applying to 28 colleges. All the forms and envelopes are here. Please send them in before Dec. 25.
